I must have some sleep! I must have some sleep in my own bed without any children in it. We trained Abby from the time she was born to sleep in her crib. Good girl. I must admit it was a little easier because we brought her crib into our room (and I was alot younger then!) Fast forward 9 years to a house with stairs and two old people as parents. We decided to let her sleep in our room in a bassinet....NOPE! She wouldn't have it....OK...we'll use a co-sleeper right beside me....NOPE! Wouldn't do. Little prissy wanted to sleep right between us propped up on her boppy (so many no-no's but what a person will do for a little shut eye can be scary). We were in a queen size bed (which let's face it...is a full size bed with a different label and higher price tag.) We decided to get a king size bed to accomodate us all comfortably, which was in 3 short years our THIRD bed!!!! We went from a king, to a queen, back to a king in a very short time for crazy reasons...live and learn. Because of her acid reflux, thrush, stomach issues, etc.. I was very hesitant to put her upstairs, alone, in her own room. Not to mention I was way too tired and lazy to be climbing stairs all night long. Well, this week the time had come to finally move her out! Would you believe the night we were to start she had the slightest temperature and looked at me with these puppy dog eyes as if to say..."you wouldn't put a baby in her crib for the first time
while she's sick would you?" Round one ...to Alivia. On the second night I was determined that we would start. I sent Abby downstairs to sleep in my room and I was ready for an all nighter. Surprisingly, she did really well. I never went in after I initially laid her down because she only woke up twice and put herself back to sleep both times and with NO Pacifier. Wow! Would it really be this easy? The next day I began to get sick so I knew that night would not be fun. Apparently little prissy thought because I had low energy she could change my mind about this whole sleep training thing. Totally different night. It took her much longer to go to sleep and then she woke up at 2:30 and cried/screamed off and on until 4:30! When we went in to get her, her feet were sticking out of the crib rails! Oh mercy, she had turned herself around and was so uncomfortable. Her bed didn't have bumper pads because I never bought them because every single retailer WARNS you of the hazards of bedding in a crib. Well they didn't tell me that without them she would stick her arms and feet out and scream! Hello? Can you say "DHR?"
Anyway, I called my sweet neighbor, borrowed her old "boy" bumper pads and put them on the crib. I WILL NOT GIVE IN...I WILL PREVAIL...We are off to start round 3...can you say"Silent night....all is calm?" That's my prayer this Christmas week. And we are off to buy some "girly" bumper pads tomorrow. Merry Christmas....

Hang in there girl!!! It is so worth it!! You will win eventually and you'll all be better off and well-rested.
Oh...how I hope this baby is as easy as Hamilton. I didn't have to do any of that. He actually LIKES his bed! He doesn't want to be rocked or cuddled. I'll be praying for you! Surely it's going better now?!?!
Ugh I know the feeling! I do have some plain white mesh bumper pads if you want them, just for that very reason. Good luck with the "moving out!"
OK we need an update...let us know how things are going in the sleep department and give us pics and all! Wanna see the bumper too!
