The Baron's game was great fun, although we were very spread out (where was everybody?). The fireworks were fabulous for those of us who stayed to enjoy them (and those who stayed but didn't plan on staying until I opened my big mouth and mentioned it to their children...sorry John!)
I had such a good time talking with new friends. I shared with Kimmy how I really felt I was "starting over" in my spiritual life. There is still so much I have to learn and unlearn! I was reading a study guide by Max Lucado this morning. He said " The body needs a steady diet to remain strong. So does the soul. Hunger is not satisfied by eating 21 meals in one sitting. God gave manna in limited portions. God sends spiritual food the same way. He opens the heavens with just enough nutrients for today's hunger. He provides a command here, a rule there, a little lesson today, and a lesson tomorrow. If we only read God's word and never obey, we will never know the joy God has promised!" Wow! Another lesson learned. Thank you Lord for loving me enough to teach me daily...help me obey!

I just finished In The Grip of Grace by Max Lucado this morning and it was incredible. Thanks for sitting with us last night, we had fun!
Wish we could have gone too but we left yesterday afternoon for H'vill for this soccer tourn. I am sitting in the hotel room listening to Bee play quietly in her bed while #1 is at the mall with teammates, and D has #2-5 at the pool.
But this is about you. I have heard that about spiritual food too. Someone once told a pastor "I don't remember anything you preached about in the 20 years I've been at this church." And the pastor replied, "Do you remember what you had for dinner 20 years ago? No? In the same way you were fed then, you have been fed by coming and hearing from God's Word every week."
G' bless!
Thanks for the blog. I love when I get a little unexpected lesson. :-)
I can tell already I am going to love reading your blog. Maybe with so many inspiring minds I MIGHT start my own. Definately after retirement!
I love Max Lucado!!! I get his weekly email. It's great!
We had fun with you guys at the game! And, we were staying for the fireworks anyway, John was just giving you a hard time. :)
