April 30...Part 2
We left school today and Abby said, "I'm glad I'm not staying for field day." "Really?" I asked. "Why?" "Because I would get all hot and sweaty and have to take a bath!" Then she said she thought Mr. Gainey was so lucky because now he didn't have to wash his hair. Sometimes I think she is a boy in disguise...she hates taking a bath. I mean hates it. After every cheerleader practice, play date, hot school day, etc. her first question is always..."Do I have to take a bath?" She tries to convince me she doesn't need one. "But I washed my hair yesterday" she will say as sweat is literally dripping from her stinky hair!!! Why does she hate it so bad? She smells absolutely wonderful when she gets out...she loves the feel of clean pajamas...I always snuggle her and say "you smell sooooo good!" So why does she hate it? It's not the bath she hates, it's the effort. She's like her mama (not that I hate to take a bath, well actually I do because I'm a shower person..but that's wayyy too much information). I'm a little lazy! How many times have I stayed "stinky and dirty" in my sin because I was too lazy to put forth the effort to study God's word? I'll do it tomorrow I say...(layer of dirt)...I don't have time today (another layer)...I don't smell that bad (denial...another layer). Can't you just hear Jesus say...(sniff, sniff)..."Wendy ...you stink!"
"Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow."
Psalm 51:7
