I recently read a friend's blog "10 reasons why this day stinks!" (Everybody know who I'm talking about ?) I read it, laughed, and commented "Oh, we all have those days." Today was my day-so here's my list:
1. Scott was sick in bed (I hate it when someone in my family is sick-especially if it's me!)
2. We were out of "fresh" donuts for Abby's breakfast (don't even give me a lecture on healthy food choices)
3. It's April-I should be wearing cute spring clothes NOT trying to find something warm that will fit me!
4. I have a HUGE zit on my chin-and it hurts!
5. Abby has a project at school that needs shoeboxes. The shoeboxes we got out last night are apparently too small...only she didn't tell me that LAST NIGHT-she waited until this morning-right before we were getting ready to leave!
6. Abby was trying to carry 3 shoeboxes, stale broken donuts, a lunchbox, backpack, a bag of dry cereal (to make up for the stale donuts) down the stairs all at one time....and fell...and DROPPED the 3 shoeboxes, stale broken donuts (now broken even more), and began to cry when I began to yell "Why are you carrying all that at one time? Why is some of this stuff not already in the car?"
7. We were late for school ...which meant I missed Monday morning prayer...and I really needed it!!!!
8. My pants (that I picked out at the last minute) are too short and look AWFUL (only I didn't realize it until I looked in the mirror at school!)
9. I took my kids out to recess (in the cold) when it began to rain (of course!)
10. I wanted some mashed potatoes for supper...I turned the stove down too low...then mixed them, and apparently they were too cold...now I have cold, potato soup...HONESTLY-how do you mess up mashed potatoes??????????????
and #11-(just for Reformed Grits...my laundry baskets are no longer empty!)
Seriously, I'm not "looking at the half-empty glass"....this was just one of those Mondays!
Now here's the good news: I only have 4 more Mondays until I am home for good and summer starts! Hallelujah! I am very thankful for Lamentations 3:21-23(another one of my favorite verses)
"Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope; Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness!"
Can't wait for Tuesday!
PS...I must let you know that we are watching America's Funniest Home Videos and having a great time laughing....Could it be Tuesday already?

I'm so glad you're feeling better! Tomorrow will be a better day! Only 4 more Mondays...
3 things came to mind...
1. Really? 4 more Mondays? Wow, it's going to be soon. COME FASTER, SUMMER!
2. I don't recall hearing JD telling me he needed shoeboxes and I was HOPING we were not going to do this project. Gr. Wondering where I can find 4. Now I'm grumpy.
3. It's after 9, but my last load of laundry (last load of jeans) is in the dryer! Everything else is put AWAY except for Sugie's who cried and never finished it but must before breakfast or she can't eat. (Work first, then eat!) I almost did it for her JUST so I could feel like I had it all done but in the end I resisted for the greater lesson (and much to my irritation!) Now of course, all the clothes they wore today have come flying down the laundry chute but cest la vie, right? Whaddya do?
Actually the 4th thing I thought of is that I was thinking how cute your tummy looked today and how jealous I was... but after the laundry I did today I'm feeling like one more child would put me in the crazy house. (OOps, too late. I LIVE in the crazy house.)
Now I'm just rambling... D has class and I don't get out much, LOL.
Hope S feels better!
I have shoe boxes anyone can have...I keep them and now they are taking over my school room closet.
Do you still need any...anyone?
Hate that you had "one of those days" but isn't it great to laugh at the end of it??
You get to the point where you laugh or cry...or do both at the same time.
You know, any day is made instantly crappy when you have a wardrobe malfunction.
Hope your Tuesday is better. I hate days like the one you just had!
I am sorry you had a bad day!
If another day starts out bad in the next 4 weeks~just call in sick and y'all come pick me up. We'll head over to KK for some fresh donuts!!!
I will pray for a smooth rest of the school year...
Hey, I've got shoeboxes too. At least a couple.
Wendy, I trust today was better!
I had a great Monday for some wierd reason....today was just okay. (It involved a dentist appt, need I say more?)
